I wouldn’t be surprised if we start hearing about this more and more in the next few days from various religious organizations, but I think the marketing tips at the end of the article are quite useful.

Sarah Palin - “A Sharp Nail”

If you’re still divided on who you will vote to be the next President of the United States, study the issues. Here’s a very, very resourceful, non-partisan link.

If you still, can’t decide, resort to the Anagram Genius.
I got a little help online from http://www.anagramgenius.com/server.html

I leave the interpretations to you.

The Candidates

McCain/Palin – “Panic in calm” or “Calm in panic”.
Obama/Biden – “Idea man, Bob.”

Barack Obama – “A back a Rambo”  I have no idea what that means, but its cool.
John McCain – “Chic -n- on jam.”  I have no idea what that means, but its funny.

Joe Biden – “Be joined.”
Sarah Palin – “A sharp nail.”

Politician – “I, in Capitol?”

And just in case you were wondering:

Hillary Clinton - ‘Only I can thrill.’

Social Networking through Meetup.com

Lately when I mention the word “Social Media” to business owners, I get a blank stare. When I mention MySpace, YouTube, Twitter, I’m speaking their language.

I’m a little surprised when I talk to people about Meetup.com that they haven’t heard about that either. Perhaps it has much to do with the generation more than anything else. Younger folks seem to know what I’m talking about while seasoned business professionals are at most times unaware. The best part about Meetup is finding like-minded people who share your particular interest. It’s our commonality which builds a community around that particular topic. So for those who are unaware……..

According to their website Meetup.com:

“Meetup is the world’s largest network of local groups. Meetup makes it easy for anyone to organize a local group or find one of the thousands already meeting up face-to-face. More than 2,000 groups get together in local communities each day, each one with the goal of improving themselves or their communities.

Meetup’s mission is to revitalize local community and help people around the world self-organize. Meetup believes that people can change their personal world, or the whole world, by organizing themselves into groups that are powerful enough to make a difference.”

I had a chance to attend Aaron Ross’s “PebbleStorm” Meetup last night in Beverly Hills. Aaron provided a comfortable atmosphere in which to meet a wide variety of business owners and professionals who were at different stages of business careers and journeys looking to “make money through enjoyment” as opposed to “make money, then enjoy it.” Though still in its infancy, Pebblestorm can still serve as a resource for people to express there ideas about starting a business they are passionate about or an opportunity for people to help other businesses expand.

Lean Forward Networking

Dinner tonight with the Exectec was another insightful one. we discussed the concept of “Lean Forward Networking”….Trust, giving value, building relationships and community…Lean Forward Networking works when an individual actively engages in contributing something of value to someone else or their business without expecting anything in return. Are we seen as being a taker only and not as a giver?

After Labor Day…..we labor…..

Fortunately it can be very worthwhile for some of us.

I had a chance to read Egbert Sukop’s “The Money Adventure” and Paul Gillin’s “The New Influencers” over the weekend much to my enjoyment.

Sukop reveals his perspective on the “psychology of money” which I found to be very revealing and informative.

Gillin’s book is nothing short of fantastic as he is able to clearly articulate how social media is impacting businesses on almost every level.

I also started the “Social Media/Business Marketing Networking Meetup Group” here in Los Angeles. If anyone cares to visit, join or speak at our meetings, please feel free to contact me. Here’s the URL to the group:http://technology.meetup.com/4/
